Cutting edge technologies
The use of laser in dentistry opens new possibilities and offers virtually painless treatments, performed in sterile and safe conditions.
Laser works in a pulse mode, sending about 10 rays (on average) per second. Each pulse carries a certain amount of energy. When it comes into contact with solid tissue, the laser beam evaporates a thin layer of approximately 0.003 mm. A micro-explosion, resulting from the heating of water molecules, discards particles of enamel and dentin, which are immediately removed from the oral cavity by a water-air spray. The procedure is absolutely painless. The unpleasant noise of a dental engine, as well as contact with biological tissue, is absent. Particles of tissue are not forced into the operating area atmosphere as usually happens with traditional procedures. When using laser, such debris do not gain high kinetic energy and are immediately removed with a spray steam. This means the sanitary-epidemiological operating mode of the clinic’s dental room is unprecedented in its safety.
Laser is used in parodontics. It destroys bacterial processes, arrests infection and promotes bio-stimulation of affected tissue. It is ideal for canal treatment, as it sterilises the canals and destroys abcesses and granulomas. Laser can also eliminate tooth sensitivity.
After laser treatment, no fractures or splits are left on enamel, though they are always formed during boring procedures. Furthermore, the oral cavity remains sterile and requires no prolonged antiseptic treatment, as laser light destroys any pathogenic flora. No bleeding occurs in dental surgery in case of laser intervention.
Thus, the following undoubted advantages of laser technology can be identified:
- No dental engine noise;
- Virtually painless procedure;
- Provides a perfect surface for composite binding;
- Sterility;
- Procedure is up to 40% quicker than dental surgery;
- Positive reaction of patients and absence of stress;
- No bleeding as may be the case in dental surgery;
- Effective use in parodontics for bacteria removal and termination of infectious processes;
- Promotes tissue bio-stimulation;
- Treats canal inflammatory processes;
- Effective treatment of inflammations of oral cavity mucous tunic.
